Manchester United 'target £200m January transfer raid on Sancho and Haaland' plus more rumours

Manchester United are prepared to spend up to £200m in January to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Erling Haaland from RB Salzburg.

That is according to the Mirror, who claim United want to strike early in January to beat off competition from other big clubs across Europe and land the two 19-year-olds.

The report adds Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified both as his priority targets after their fine form over the last two seasons.

Sancho took the Bundesliga by storm last season, but has struggled for form this campaign. Haaland, on the other hand, is the Champions League top scorer and has 26 goals in 18 games in all competitions.

Sancho would cost United around £100m in January, while Haaland is valued at £85m, the report says.

Meanwhile, United are planning a meeting next week to discuss the potential sale of Chris Smalling, according to reports in Italy.

Il Messaggero  suggest Roma and United should meet ‘at the beginning of next week’ to try and sort out the long-term future of the English defender.

Smalling is impressing at Roma this season, but will still be under contract at United when his season-long loan ends next summer. Roma, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all linked with Smalling.

Finally, Juventus are keen on a move for United winger Tahith Chong, reports say.

Calciomercato  suggest the Italian champions are eyeing a move for the Dutch youth international and will look to sign him once his United contract expires at the end of the current season.

Chong is yet to commit his future at United, and has said he will hold out before signing a new deal.
