Manchester United suffer huge injury blow ahead of Premier League opener with Chelsea

Chelsea have got a tough opening weekend to the 2019/20 Premier League campaign when they travel to Manchester United on August 11.

However, the Blues have been given a little bit of a boost with United defender Eric Bailly suffering what looked like a serious injury during pre-season.

The Red Devils were facing Tottenham Hotspur in Shanghai and Bailly was one of the 11 changes that were brought on at half-time during the clash.

However, Just minutes later Bailly went down with an injury and, looking visibilty upset, was stretchered off the pitch and down back into the United changing room.

Bailly has really struggled with injuries over the course of his time at Old Trafford, starting just eight Premier League matches last season and with another four appearances off the bench.

And it looks like Bailly might be out for some more time after the injury in China, leaving the stadium after the game on crutches.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær said after the game: "It seems as if he’s [Bailly] twisted his knee, we have to wait for some scans, at the time the first look didn’t look great."

The Blues are trying to recover some of their own players in time for the big match at Old Trafford, with N'Golo Kante still trying to get fit from his knee problem.

Antonio Rudiger, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Reece James are all looking to get fit again for the start of the campaign.
