Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Bruno Fernandes is an injury doubt for their clash with Liverpool this weekend.
United welcome the Reds to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon before they go head-to-head with Tottenham just six days later in the Premier League.
Fernandes, who has been a revelation since signing for the Manchester-based club just over 18 months ago, is one of several United stars who are feeling the effects of their Champions League victory over Atalanta on Wednesday evening.
Now, with a huge clash against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, Solskjaer has confirmed a major injury blow for his side.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, the United boss said: "Games like Wednesday night are always going to bring knocks and bruises.
"We do have two or three from that game. Bruno might be one of them that is a doubt, but he is doing everything he can to be ready."
Fred and Marcus Rashford also picked up knocks in their dramatic European win in the week and Solskjaer admitted he could be without "two or three" players for Sunday's clash.
He added: "It was a great effort towards the end of course - a great comeback and a great Champions League night.
"We have some knocks and bruises. But it is still Friday, the game is on Sunday, and we will give everyone time. Today, we did not have anyone, but let us see on Sunday.
"I hope I can pick from a fully-fit squad. It might be that I am without two or three."
So, judging by Solskjaer's comments, his players could be fit and raring to go for the time they travel to north London to face Tottenham next Saturday, but it certainly is not ideal preparation.
It is also a rare week of rest for United before they meet Spurs, so Solskjaer will be hoping to get the aforementioned trio back to full fitness before the visit to the capital.
Before that, Nuno Espirito Santo will have his attention firmly set on the London derby against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, with his side looking to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat against Vitesse on Thursday in the Europa Conference League.
In that game, though, Espirito Santo named a much-changed side to the one he usually operates with in the Premier League, with Son Heung-min and Harry Kane not even travelling to the Netherlands, so we expect plenty of different names in the team to face the Hammers on Sunday.
