Manchester United submit '£80million take it or leave it bid for Harry Maguire'

Manchester United have submitted a '£80million take it or leave it bid' to Leicester City for Harry Maguire, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to add a commanding centre-back to his squad this summer in order to complete his new look back-line, after already signing right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka earlier in the window.

While United have been linked with a countless number of centre-backs this summer it is Leicester's Maguire who has emerged as the number one target, with neighbours Manchester City also keen on the England international.

The Foxes are notoriously tough negotiators and have already rejected two bids for Maguire, one of which being a £70million opening bid from United, as they hold out for £90million.

United have now made another bid, according to TalkSport, who claim United have 'tabled a take it or leave it bid' for Maguire worth '£80million.'

It is claimed the bid 'will be withdrawn on Monday if Leicester have not accepted it by then.'

Manager Brendan Rodgers has repeatedly said that the club are calm on the situation and won't accept a bid that is lower than their valuation. Leicester are under no pressure to sell as the 26-year-old's contract doesn't expire until 2023.

Elsewhere, United have reportedly won the race to sign highly rated French teenager Hannibal Mejri.

It is claimed that a dispute between Mejri and Monaco has convinced the Principality club to let him go and Sky Sports Report that United are 'increasingly confident of signing' the young Frenchman, despite interest from 'various major clubs around Europe.'

United are reportedly set to seal the 16-year-old’s services for €10million.
