Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku trains with Anderlecht again

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku once again trained with Anderlecht on Tuesday.

For the second day in succession the Belgium international trained with his boyhood club ahead of United's Premier League opener at home to Chelsea on Sunday.

As the players had Monday off, United were relaxed about the striker's decision to travel to Anderlecht and train on his day off.

However, the 26-year-old stayed in Belgium to continue training with Anderlecht. Neither Lukaku's or Manchester United's representatives would comment and it is not known if Lukaku had permission to stay in Belgium.

Lukaku is believed to have trained separately from the United first-team squad at their Carrington training complex since he regained fitness from an apparent ankle injury last week and has not featured for the club this summer on any of their six pre-season friendly fixtures.

The Belgium international is hoping to secure a move away from Old Trafford this summer with Inter Milan keen on securing his services and the Italian side are set to lodge a second bid for the striker imminently.

United value the former Everton man at £80million and it is unlikely Inter's next bid would be anywhere near that valuation as it is believed they would need to sell in order to generate more funds.

While the English transfer window closes on Thursday, before the start of the Premier League on Friday night at Anfield where Liverpool host Norwich, the Italian window doesn't close until September 1 which would mean there's still a possibility Lukaku could leave after Thursday's deadline.

It is understood that if Lukaku does leave United are prepared to replace him with younger players in the squad rather than signing a replacement.
