Man Utd striker Marcus Rashford could succeed at Barcelona, says Patrick Kluivert

Marcus Rashford is enjoying a fruitful post-Jose Mourinho renaissance under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United and boasts the attributes necessary to potentially succeed at Barcelona, according to Patrick Kluivert.

England striker Rashford has thrived since the change of management at Old Trafford, becoming a regular fixture in the starting XI and netting six goals in 10 matches, including the early winner in Sunday's tense 1-0 victory at Leicester.

Arsenal counterpart Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, meanwhile, trails only Mohamed Salah in the Premier League scoring charts with 15 and former Barcelona frontman Kluivert believes both could have what it takes to flourish at Camp Nou.

However, he concedes that prising Rashford away from Manchester would be a tall order.

"I like Marcus Rashford, a lot,” he told sport360. “It will be really difficult to get him over.

“But he is a good player.

“I don’t see a lot of players who can play in Barcelona. Aubameyang, perhaps he can play.

“There is not a lot. Maybe some players who can play in La Liga, young players.

“But for me, I think the best one is Marcus Rashford.”

Barcelona are currently not short on general forward options, with attacking linchpin Lionel Messi supported by the likes of central striker Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Malcom and potentially even heralded youngster Abel Ruiz.

However, with both Messi and Suarez now in their 30s and each of Dembele, Coutinho and Malcom having flattered to deceive in stretches, it stands to reason that the La Liga leaders, who sold Munir El Haddadi to Sevilla in January, may be looking to strengthen that department during the summer transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund also exercised their option to sign former Barcelona reserve centre-forward Paco Alcacer on a permanent basis at the beginning of the month.
