Manchester United starting line up vs AZ Alkmaar includes Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a host of changes to Manchester United's team for the Europa League meeting with AZ Alkmaar in The Hague.

United played in the Premier League on Monday and are back in top-flight action at Newcastle on Sunday so Solskjaer has taken the decision to rest several of his senior charges.

Brandon Williams is handed his full debut, while Angel Gomes and Mason Greenwood are also starting.

Sergio Romero was expected to line up against his former club but David de Gea keeps his place between the sticks.

United are without Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Phil Jones, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Ashley Young for the game in The Hague.

Pogba has an ankle problem, while Martial, Shaw and Jones are all coming back from muscle injuries. Wan-Bissaka is ill and Young's absence is unexplained.

United starting XI vs Alkmaar:  De Gea; Dalot, Lindelof, Rojo, Williams; Fred, Matic, Mata; Gomes, James, Greenwood

Substitutes: Romero, Maguire, Tuanzebe, McTominay, Lingard, Chong, Rashford
