Manchester United stars Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood named among world's best young players

Manchester United duo Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood have been named among the young stars to look out for in world football in 2022.

The pair have already burst onto the international scene with England over the past few years, and could now be set for a big year ahead amid a new era at United.

Having struggled earlier on in the season following his big money move from Borussia Dortmund, Sancho is beginning to pick up a run of games and finding some much-needed form heading into the New Year.

The 21-year-old arrived at Old Trafford to much fanfare, having set the Bundesliga alight during his time in Germany, leading to him being linked with some of the biggest clubs across Europe.

Greenwood, meanwhile, has become a regular fixture for United after enjoying his breakthrough in 2019, leading to him making his international debut the following year.

And the 20-year-old, along with Sancho, has been named among The Hundred – a list of the 100 most exciting young players on the planet heading into the New Year.

All of the players included were born on or after January 1, 2000, with some of the biggest names around the world getting the nod, with the likes of Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Dusan Vlahovic listed.

Sancho and Greenwood are United’s representatives on the list, with plenty of their Premier League rivals also included.

Manchester City have two inductees in Phil Foden and Ferran Torres – although the latter looks set for a move to Barcelona – while Arsenal have four with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Emile Smith Rowe and William Saliba, who is on loan at Marseille.

Both of the Chelsea players on the list are currently out on loan, with Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace) and Billy Gilmour (Norwich City) included, while Liverpool have just the one player listed in Curtis Jones.
