Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United faced off in an intra-squad friendly today at Old Trafford, with the squad playing against each other in full kits.
United are stepping up their preparations for the restart of the Premier League season, with Solskjaer's side set to face Tottenham on Friday, June 19 in north London.
Solskjaer followed Jose Mourinho's lead with Spurs taking to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium pitch on Friday for an intra-squad friendly, with Harry Kane back in action.
Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes appeared to be pitted against each other, with the former arriving by car at Old Trafford in United's away kit while the latter turned up in the Red Devils' home strip.
Following United's return to the Theatre of Dreams, Nemanja Matic was the first United player to take to social media.
The midfielder posted a picture of himself (in United's home strip) on Instagram playing at Old Trafford with Jesse Lingard in the background, with the message: "Nice to be back at #oldtrafford".
Solskjaer intends to utilise his full squad once the season resumes, with the Premier League approving five substitutions per match from a bench of nine players.
Solskjaer told United's website: "Now the rules have changed, we can use five subs and have nine on the bench. I think that’s helpful because footballers, after being out for so long, going into competitive games will be a challenge for them and we have to look after them injury-wise and fitness-wise.
"We can’t just flog one player and say to them, ‘you play every game and every minute’ because it might be a period when we have to rotate quite often.”
