Manchester United's Mason Greenwood has been included on the 2021 Golden Boy shortlist to recognise the brightest young talents across Europe.
United winger Greenwood was included in the final 20-man shortlist for the 2020 award, finishing 12th as Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland scooped up the prize.
The English youngster enjoyed a stellar 2019/20 campaign, netting 17 times and earning himself a call-up to the England squad for UEFA Nations League matches last summer before he eventually was withdrawn from the side after breaking COVID-19 quarantine guidelines in Iceland.
This seemed to affect his club form as he struggled in front of goal, failing to score a Premier League goal in a poor spell between December and April.
However, the 19-year-old began to pick up some form in the latter part of the season and eventually finished with 12 goals and six assists across all competitions, earning him a spot in Gareth Southgate's 33-man squad for the European Championships.
Greenwood eventually had to pull out of the tournament due to ongoing fitness problems but the call-up, as well as the inclusion on the Golden Boy shortlist, will hopefully be huge confidence boosters for the goalscoring wideman ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The Golden Boy contenders are voted for by fans, with the votes of a panel of journalists the main deciding factor behind who wins the prestigious award.
It will be cut down by 20 names each month until a final 20-man shortlist is revealed and the winner announced at the end of the year.
Previous winners include the likes of United stars Paul Pogba, Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial.
