Manchester United starlet Anthony Elanga sends message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of next season

Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga has been training hard ahead of pre-season in an attempt to get into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first-team plans for next season.

The 19-year-old has been posting videos of himself training hard on his social media accounts, clearly trying to make an impression on Solskjaer ahead of United's pre-season, which gets underway later this month.

Elanga, who is likely to feature in the Reds' friendlies against Derby County, Queens Park Rangers, Brentford, and Everton, posted a video of himself working hard in the gym on his official Instagram account.

"Don’t complain about the season you didn’t have with the work you didn’t do!", his Instagram post read.

"I'm ready. Glory to God always. Built not born"

The Swedish winger netted 11 goals and four assists across 20 games for United's under-23 side, earning himself a spot in the Reds' starting line-up for their final Premier League game of the season against Wolves.

Elanga was hugely impressive in their 2-1 win, opening the scoring at Mollineux in the 13th minute.

The teenager is confident that he can find a way into Solskjaer's plans after seeing the Norwegian coach give opportunities to several other United youngsters.

"You look at the likes of Mason [Greenwood] and Rashy [ Rashford ], there is a pathway there,” Elanga told the PA news agency in November 2020.

“It just shows you that if you’re willing to put the work into it and continue to work hard day in, day out in training there’s a pathway for you there.

“Obviously we’ve got a manager in Ole trusting the youngsters, so there’s a pathway there and I’ve just got to keep working hard.

“I’m putting the work in day in, day out. If I continue the way I am, continue to work hard, hopefully, there’s a pathway there.

“I am always going to get better. In training, I’m always working hard and the way that I train is the way that I play. You can see that in the results and I’m just happy at the moment, I’m enjoying my football.”
