Manchester United star Paul Pogba dodges Real Madrid transfer question

Paul Pogba dodged a question from Spanish broadcasters asking why he doesn't already play for Real Madrid.

The French midfielder continues to be heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United in the summer transfer window as he enters the final year of his current deal at the club.

Pogba has long fantasised about a move to Real Madrid later in his career and has even publicly stated he would love to move to the Spanish capital in the future.

“Of course, every footballer would love to play for Real Madrid and would dream about that. It’s a dream of mine, so why not one day?" he stated last October.

“But I’m at Manchester United and I love my club. I play for Manchester United, I want to perform well for them and do everything to get them back to where they deserve to be.”

United are keen to secure Pogba's future on a new long-term deal but the clock is ticking ahead of him potentially leaving the club as a free agent in a year's time.

If the 28-year-old does not pen new terms then he will be free to negotiate with another European club in the New Year, with Real Madrid still the favourites to land the French star.

Earlier this week Pogba was quizzed on his future plans by Spanish TV and asked rather bluntly why he does not play for his 'dream' club yet.

“I was expecting this,” Pogba laughed when quizzed by El Chiringuito.

“I want to say thank you all, I'm going to continue with my holiday and I have to go now because they're waiting for me.”
