Manchester United star Marcus Rashford strikes Sky Sports reporter with pinpoint 35-yard ball live on air

As seen before on transfer deadline day, Sky Sports journalists have become accustomed to ignoring background distractions. But newsreader Vinny O'Connor certainly wasn't expecting to fall victim to a prank when filming at Manchester United's training ground.

The Sky Sports News reporter was invited to watch Jose Mourinho's side's last session at Carrington before their trip to Turin to face Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday.

As he was nearing the end of his news report, United forward Marcus Rashford could be seen lining up to hit the ball in the distance.

The England international was impressively accurate with his shot, as his chipped effort from around 35 yards away clipped the back of O'Connor just as he moved out of shot.

The experienced presenter took it all in good humour, however, and as the cameraman zoomed in to spot the guilty party, Rashford did his best to contain his excitement.

Unfortunately for the 21-year-old, team-mate Ashley Young can be seen pointing at him and laughing hysterically to give the game away.

Sky Sports named Rashford as the culprit in a light-hearted tweet which contained a clip of the incident and he didn't hesitate to reply, highlighting his mischievous act by quoting the tweet with two laughing emojis.

O'Connor used his own Twitter account to deliver his verdict and suggested Young was the orchestrator behind the prank, tweeting: "Apparently it was @MarcusRashford who managed to hit by [sic] backside live on @SkySportsNews... can't help feeling @young18 had some influence too."

Needless to say, it seems the Wirral-based reporter won't be turning his back on a training session again anytime soon.
