Manchester United star drops social media hint amid Arsenal transfer rumours

Manchester United's Antonio Valencia has dropped a hint where his future might lie next season but it looks unlikely to be Arsenal.

The Ecuadorian defender come winger has already noted that he will leave Old Trafford when his contract expires and the 33-year-old's father and agent had touted the Gunners as an option.

He said in March: "He definitely will not continue in Manchester. He wants to change the air and the club is not going to renew him either.

"Like everything in life, everything has its end.

"Arsenal, West Ham, Inter Milan and one from China are options, but in football everything is changing."

Unai Emery may well need another full back before the start of next season with Hector Bellerin potentially not back in time from his injury and Stephan Lichtsteiner unlikely to have the option on his contract picked up, whilst Carl Jenkinson could be free to leave.

While far from his best, Valencia could fulfill a role similar to that of the Swiss international.

However, if Arsenal did have any plans to sign out of contract star, they may already be too late as the former Wigan winger could be set for a move to MLS.

Valencia retweeted a post from Gabo Rodriguez which read: "Good for @ anto_v25 I wish it were!" in response to another tweet that indicated he was set to reunite with Wayne Rooney at DC United.

It read: "By special request of one of them, the Manchester United duo will return to reality in the capital of the USA. 2-year contract would be closed with DC United."
