Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes compared to Man City's Kevin De Bruyne after LASK victory

Owen Hargreaves has heaped praise on Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes by comparing him to Man City player Kevin De Bruyne.

Fernandes helped United take control of their Europa League last-16 tie with a comfortable 5-0 win over LASK .

Odion Ighalo set the Reds on their way in the opening 45 minutes before goals from Daniel James, Juan Mata, Mason Greenwood and Andreas Pereira followed in the second half.

And not for the first time since his arrival in January, Fernandes impressed for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side , who extended their unbeaten run to 11 games in Austria.

And having already hailed the former Sporting Lisbon as the “real deal” before the game, Hargreaves was quick to compare the midfielder to the Belgian afterwards.

“Every time he gets the ball he makes something happen,” Hargreaves told BT Sport post-match.

“Fernandes is on fire, he created five chances in that first half.

“Like De Bruyne, he plays at his own speed, he's never rushed, finds pockets of space. He just has a feel of when to do things.”
