Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes can equal Denis Law's incredible 56-year-old record

It could be another weekend to remember for Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United prepare to face West Ham in the Premier League.

United know victory at the London Stadium on Saturday evening could launch them up the Premier League table and within touching distance of the leading pack.

It won't be easy for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side though. Not only are West Ham one of the surprise packages with their current fifth-place position, but they also have an incredible recent record against United.

In fact after a run of 11 wins in 12 Premier League games against West Ham (D1) between 2008-2014, United have won just three of their last 11 against the Hammers in the competition (D5 L3).

However, Solskjaer does have a not-so-secret weapon for the match in the shape of Fernandes, with a place in the history books awaiting him should he score this weekend.

That's because the Portuguese midfielder has scored in each of his last five league away games for the club and could become the first United player to net in six consecutive away league appearances since Denis Law did so in March 1964.

His recent record suggests it could be on the cards as well. Eleven of Fernandes’ 15 Premier League goals for have come away from home (73.3 per cent). Of all players in the competition’s history to have scored at least 15 goals, only Johan Elmander (73.7pc) has scored a higher share on the road.
