Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes admits Liverpool frustration

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has admitted to feeling frustrated at not being able to play Liverpool last weekend.

The Reds were due to take on their arch rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday, but the game was postponed following fan protests outside the stadium.

Both Liverpool and Man United players and staff were forced to stay in their hotels while the protests continued.

At the time of writing, there has been no confirmation on when the rescheduled game will take place.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Man United’s Europa League tie against Roma, Fernandes admits it was difficult not being allowed to play against Liverpool.

The Portugal international has also opened up on what he was up to while being told to stay in the Lowry Hotel.

“I was in my room watching Udinese versus Juventus, I didn't try to go outside,” said Fernandes.

“I did what security said and stayed in my room.

“For us, it was hard because we wanted to play football. We prepared well for a big game.

“A chance to play this game is good. The feeling was good.

“We played well against Roma and the confidence was high. The feeling was positive.

“We were ready to play. The fans had their own word but we have nothing to say about that.”
