Manchester United have reportedly ruled out a move for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele in the summer window.
MEN Sport understands Jadon Sancho remains United's priority target but time is running out to complete a deal for the Borussia Dortmund star which could force the club to seek alternatives.
Dembele, 23, has been heavily linked with an exit as Ronald Koeman continues to clear out his squad and various reports in Spain claimed United were accelerating their transfer plans for the Frenchman as they struggle to reach a breakthrough with Sancho.
However, The Mirror report club sources have indicated they won't be making a move for the former Dortmund winger. Dembele was considered as an option earlier in the window but Barcelona are now set to keep the winger following Luis Suarez's move to Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool have also been linked with a loan move for the youngster who has struggled since his big-money move to Spain.
Elsewhere, United have reportedly turned to Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico in their search for a new left-back.
MEN Sport understands United monitored Sergio Reguilon's situation at Real Madrid prior to his move to Tottenham and continue to follow developments regarding Alex Telles at Porto.
The Sun report that Porto are demanding their £23million asking price up front which has resulted in United turning their attention to Tagliafico.
The Argentine was targeted by Leicester earlier in the window but Ajax are reportedly holding out for a similar fee to Telles which could prove to be a stumbling block to any deal.
