Manchester United stance on Ousmane Dembele transfer and more rumours

Manchester United are holding off on talks with Barcelona over Ousmane Dembele as they remain confident Jadon Sancho will move to Old Trafford this summer, according to reports.

Sancho is a priority transfer target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but no agreement has been reached with Borussia Dortmund thus far. MEN Sport understands there is still no resolution on the 20-year-old Sancho's salary expectations in discussions with his agent Emeka Obasi and the intermediary fee demanded by Marco Lichtsteiner, acting on behalf of Borussia Dortmund.

It is understood United have not even broached the issue of the proposed transfer fee and how a deal might be structured, with Sancho valued at £108million by Dortmund.

United have explored alternative options to signing Sancho in the summer window with Dembele mentioned as an alternative.

It was claimed on the Transfer Window Podcast that United are not in talks with Barcelona despite being interested in a loan move for the Frenchman as they remain confident Sancho will end up at Old Trafford this summer.

The transfer window shuts on October 5 with United kicking off their Premier League campaign on September 19.

Elsewhere, Fred has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray.

Fotomac claim the Brazilian is high on their list of options as they seek a new midfielder. Manager Fatih Terim has reportedly asked his scouts to check on his availability.

A one-year loan deal with the option to buy is said to be their preferred move in the window.

Fred has three years to run on his United contact and emerged as a crucial player under Solskjaer in the first half of the season before his game time was limited following the return of Paul Pogba.
