Manchester United squad vs Arsenal revealed

Michael Carrick could be without Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Nemanja Matic and Luke Shaw for his final game as Manchester United caretaker manager versus Arsenal on Thursday.

After incoming interim manager Ralf Rangnick finally got his work permit issued on Wednesday evening, the German will take over the reins from Carrick for Sunday's fixture against Crystal Palace.

Before that though, Carrick will end his brief stint in the United hot seat with the visit of the Gunners to Old Trafford as he looks to keep his unbeaten record as a manager intact.

However, he may have to do so without some key players, with United already carrying a fairly lengthy injury list.

Wan-Bissaka and Matic both played the full 90 minutes in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Chelsea, but weren't spotted by photographers arriving at the Hyatt Hotel with the rest of the United squad on Thursday afternoon, suggesting they won't be involved in the match.

Shaw also wasn't seen, with the left-back missing the last two matches as he continues to recover from a head injury.

It is possible that all three players made their own separate ways to the hotel and could still be included in the matchday squad.

Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani all remain sidelined as well, though Carrick did share a positive update on the Uruguayan striker ahead of the match.

"Edi is back on the grass," he said. "He is working outside with the strength and conditioning guys. Paul and Rapha are a bit further away."

Carrick will be able to call upon captain Harry Maguire once again, however, after the centre-back missed the trip to Stamford Bridge as he served a one-match suspension.

Young winger Amad has been called into the squad to make up the numbers while Phil Jones has been included for the second successive match.
