Manchester United sleeve sponsors Kohler have released a video giving a hint of the squad number that Bruno Fernandes might wear.
United are due to announce Fernandes' official squad number on Friday morning before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's press conference. That's after they officially unveiled the former Sporting Lisbon playmaker as their first January signing, as he joins United in a €55million deal, plus add-ons from the Portuguese club.
Kohler's video, published on their social media feeds, says "welcome to the team Bruno Fernandes" alongside some shots of Old Trafford and also of the midfielder's shirt.
It doesn't show the full shirt number but it's clear from one angle that Fernandes's name is above a two-digit number that begins with a '2'.
The vacant numbers in that area are 25 and 27, last worn by Antonio Valencia and Marouane Fellaini respectively.
Of course, it may be that Kohler are fooling everyone and Fernandes could wear No.7, No.11, No.12, No.16 or No.18, which are all available as well. Fans will be waiting on tenterhooks.
Fernandes spoke to United's official website upon being announced as the club's new signing and referenced his love for former club great Cristiano Ronaldo.
"My love of Manchester United really started when I used to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play and ever since then I have been a big fan of this great club," he said.
"For me to now play for Manchester United feels incredible, I have worked hard to get to this moment and I can promise the fans that I will give everything for the badge to help bring us more success and trophies. I want to thank Sporting for everything they have done for me. It is surreal to hear the nice words that have been said about me from players that used to play for this team.
"A massive thank you to Ole and everyone at Manchester United for the trust they have shown in me and I can’t wait to start to repay that on the pitch."
