Manchester United shown how Jadon Sancho can blaze a trail for years to come

In Jadon Sancho, Manchester United have acquired a player who is head and shoulders above his peers - and has the stats to prove it.

According to a recent study conducted by OLBG Jadon Sancho is responsible for 8.7% of all goals/assists by players born after 2000 in Europe's top five leagues.

The new Manchester United winger is at the top of the leaderboard in front of the likes of Erling Haaland (5%), Dusan Vlahovic (3.1%) and Phil Foden (2.4%).

The data looked at goals and assists scored in Europe's top five leagues since 2000 born players started making their mark in the professional game.

Sancho is well on top of the list having enjoyed four seasons in the Bundesliga from the age of 17.

Meanwhile the likes of Haaland and Foden have not been able to rack up as many minutes in Europe's top five leagues at the same time.

Sancho scored 50 goals and registered 64 assists in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund and arrives at United with lofty expectations.

The 21-year-old is the club's major marquee signing for the summer and his presence will bolster an already impressive attacking line-up for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

All eyes will be on Sancho when he dons the Manchester United kit for the first time with the pressure and expectation on him to deliver and replicate similar numbers to his time at Borussia Dortmund.

The step-up from Bundesliga football to the Premier League has presented a steep climate for some recently.

Both Timo Werner and Kai Havertz struggled in their first season at Chelsea after moving from Germany's top flight.

Sancho will need to be given some patience too. However. considering he is only 21-years-old, there will be plenty of time for him to settle, adjust to the league and become a formidable presence in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

The ceiling is the limit, and Sancho will be looking to continue his hegemony as the most influential 2000 born player in Europe's top five leagues.
