Manchester United share Cristiano Ronaldo update ahead of potential second debut vs Newcastle

Cristiano Ronaldo was pictured at Carrington this morning as he made his first appearance after re-joining Manchester United.

The Portuguese international was released from his national squad early in order to travel back to the UK to ensure he's part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans for their game against Newcastle this weekend.

There had been some doubts over quarantine concerns after returning to the UK, but the pictures released today show Ronaldo at Man United's training complex.

However, the Portuguese forward picked up a suspension for his country's World Cup qualifier in Azerbaijan this evening, and he was was granted permission to return to Manchester last Thursday, therefore completing his quarantine isolation.

The 36-year-old completed a sensational return to the Red Devils this summer from Juventus, 12 years after departing for a world-record £80m fee.

Ronaldo's availability has dominated the pre-match headlines, and briefly raised the prospect of the match being rearranged from its 3pm slot on Saturday for television coverage.
