Manchester United send scouts to watch RC Lens star Kevin Danso and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are one of several Premier League clubs to have sent scouts to watch RC Lens defender Kevin Danso, according to reports.

The Reds could be in the market to strengthen defensively this summer, with the futures of several defenders uncertain. Injuries to first-choice pair Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have highlighted a lack of depth in that area, with Erik ten Hag keen on adding reinforcements.

Several centre-backs have been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, including Napoli's Kim Min-jae and Alessandro Bastoni of Inter Milan. And now 90min have added Danso to that list, reporting that scouts were in attendance for Saturday's massive 2-1 win against Marseille which sent them second.

Lens have conceded just 26 goals in their 34 Ligue 1 games, which is by far the fewest in the division, and Danso has been pivotal to that success. The 24-year-old grabbed an assist against Marseille, with scouts from Liverpool, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Wolves also reportedly at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Elsewhere, Sport reports that United are set to battle Barcelona for the signature of Monaco full-back Vanderson.

As well as a central defender, Ten Hag could be in the market for a new right-back this summer, with the future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka uncertain. United have held talks with Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong, proof of their interest in strengthening that part of the squad.

Brazilian Vanderson has enjoyed an impressive season at Monaco, his one goal and four assists helping the French side fight for a Champions League spot.

His form has attracted the interest of Barcelona, who are keen on bringing the 21-year-old to Camp Nou. But the report also named United as the other interested party.
