Manchester United season tickets sell out in record time despite disappointing season

Manchester United have sold out their season tickets for next season in record time despite a disappointing campaign which saw them miss out on Champions League football.

Despite a revival after the sacking of Jose Mourinho in December United finished sixth, a huge 32 points off champions Manchester City, and will consequently play Europa League football next season.

But that's not put fans off for next season as the club confirmed their 53,000 season tickets for the next campaign had sold out out in record time.

The club announced in March that they had frozen season ticket prices for the eighth consecutive season and renewals were sent out in March, a month earlier than the previous season, with the club in the midst of an impressive unbeaten run under the then interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

When announcing the freeze the club also confirmed plans for a dedicated ‘atmosphere section’ in the Stretford End in 2019-20.

Richard Arnold, Manchester United group managing director said:  The support from our fans and the atmosphere they generate is incredible, so we’re delighted to be freezing season ticket prices once again in recognition of that."

In addition to the new atmosphere section the club has committed to replacing all seats in the ground over a five year period with around 15,000 seats due to be replaced per year.
