Manchester United scout spotted in Norway as club awaits first summer transfer signing

Manchester United international scout Tommy Møller Nielsen has been spotted in Norway as the clubs look to make its first signing of the summer transfer window.

United are expected to push on with their summer transfer plans following their elimination from the Europa League, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to bolster his squad options.

Solskjaer reiterated United are not necessarily in the market for 'marquee' names this summer as they look to add further squad depth as well as new first-team stars.

Prior to their defeat against Sevilla on Sunday night scout Møller Nielsen was spotted in Norway watching a match between Sandefjord and FK Bodø/Glimt.

A report from Eurosport Norge suggested the United scout was in attendance to watch Bodø/Glimt forward and Norway youth international Jens Petter Hauge. The 20-year-old failed to get on the score sheet but showed encouraging signs in a 2-1 away win for his side.

Speaking recently Danish scout Møller Nielsen spoke about his role at United and expressed his joy to be working for the club.

"My job is to be updated on everything that happens in Scandinavia," he told Ekstra Bladet earlier in the month. "If a player shows up, Manchester United must be able to draw a report and see if it is a player we can use.

"It is a pleasure and a great inspiration to work in a club where you are constantly thinking about developing and getting better. Manchester United is a fantastic employer."
