How Manchester United's next 10 Premier League fixtures will play out - and the points they will have at Christmas

1. Liverpool (h), October 20

United's stock has never been lower in Premier League history, while Liverpool's has arguably never been higher.

It is difficult to envisage a scenario in which United don't end up losing this match, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men having home advantage.

Prediction: Loss

2. Norwich (a), October 27

Norwich may have beaten Manchester City earlier in the season but they have also lost six times in the league and Solskjaer should view this game as the perfect opportunity for the Reds to end their away-day blues.

United haven't won a top-flight match away from Old Trafford since February, though, and it will be a difficult task to end that drought.

Prediction: Draw

3. Bournemouth (a), November 2

United have won on each of their previous three visits to the Vitality Stadium and Marcus Rashford has fond memories of the ground having scored an injury-time winner there last season.

Solskjaer should have a few more senior players back from injury by the time this game comes around and Bournemouth don't have the best record against 'Big Six' sides.

Prediction: Win

4. Brighton (h), November 10

United have taken seven points from home games against Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester and Palace in their opening four home league games, which actually isn't the worst return when you consider the calibre of those opponents.

Brighton beat Spurs at the Amex last time out but they have not scored a single goal on the road since August 10.

Prediction: Win

5. Sheffield United (a), November 24

The Ravel Morrison derby... is what nobody is calling it.

Perhaps surprisingly, Sheffield United's best results have come away from home so far and they have lost three of their four games at Bramall Lane.

But the losses they have suffered have all been by one-goal margins and United could struggle.

Prediction: Draw

6. Aston Villa (h), December 1

Villa have lost three of their four away games since returning to the Premier League but they did pick up three points last time out, routing Norwich at Carrow Road.

Still, this is a game United should win, regardless of their struggles.

Prediction: Win

7. Spurs (h), December 3

If any club is rivalling United in the disastrous season stakes, it is Tottenham.

Spurs have accrued two more points than United after eight games but the majority of their players look burnt out.

A lot will change between now and December 3, though, and the North Londoners trounced United at the beginning of last season.

8. Manchester City (a), December 7

United are invariably underdogs whenever they go to City these days.

Pep Guardiola has tasted defeat just once in six Premier League meetings with United, winning four times and drawing once.

Prediction: Loss

9. Everton (h), December 14

Marco Silva might not be the one occupying the opposition dugout by the time Everton come to town but United should fancy themselves whoever is in charge.

It is not something United will celebrate but they have not been as bad as Merseyside's second club in the season's opening months and the Toffees have won just twice at Old Trafford in the Premier League era.

Prediction: Win

10. Watford (a), December 21

One suspects Watford will have won at least once between now and United's visit to Vicarage Road four days before Christmas.

United have a good record against the Hornets but they've never had it easy against them away from home in the Premier League era.

Prediction: Draw

Predicted United points tally on Christmas Day: 25
