Manchester United's Nemanja Matic praises Antonio Conte amid Inter Milan transfer links

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic believes Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte "is one of the best" managers in the world, amid suggestions that he could be set for a move to San Siro.

Matic has only been a bit part player for United this season, not starting a league match since the 2-0 defeat to West Ham and the MEN understands he is open to a move in January amid concerns over a lack of playing time.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a reunion with his former Chelsea boss Conte, who is now in charge at Inter Milan.

The potential move would also see Matic reunite with former United teammates Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku, who both joined Conte at Inter in the summer.

Matic's current United contract expires in the summer and MEN Sport understands the Serbian international is unlikely to stay beyond the season.

Speaking about Conte to Italian media outlet Tuttosport , Matic said: "He is crazy about football. He works 24 hours a day, analyses their players and opponents to the fullest. Tactically he is certainly one of the best in the world.

"At the physical level he makes his team run at the same levels for 95 minutes. A professional, one of the best in the world.

"I'm sure he'll make it at Inter. He deserves it."
