Manchester United's Marcus Rashford to be studied in GCSEs in schools

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford's food campaign will be studied at GCSE level in some schools across the United Kingdom.

Rashford has excelled on the pitch at United since he emphatically bridged the gap from the academy to first team level, however, last year as the pandemic hit he used his platform for good away from football, helping vulnerable kids around the country.

The 23-year-old received an MBE last year for campaigning for the government to allow children to claim free school meal vouchers during the coronavirus pandemic and his charity work has now been recognised again with this latest GCSE announcement.

That's because children studying media studies with the exam board AQA will learn about Rashford's food campaign.

Children will learn about how Rashford, who now has 5 million followers on Twitter, has used social media for his campaign.

Regarding when supporters might get to see Rashford on the pitch next for United, the forward successfully underwent surgery last month on a shoulder issue and he's since made his return to light training - his rehabilitation is understood to be progressing well.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also confirmed recently that he expected Rashford to return to full training in the coming weeks.

"They're [Rashford and Telles] not too far away from joining the team training," Solskjaer said.
