Manchester United's Marcus Rashford nominated for PFA young player of the year award

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford has been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year after a stellar season.

The Manchester-born striker has netted 16 times in all competitions this term, including 10 in the Premier League and went on a run of six goals in 10 games after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's appointment as manager.

Rashford was the Premier League's Player of the Month for January and will be among the contenders for United's own Matt Busby Player of the Year award at the end of the season.

He's nominated alongside two Man City players in Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva, plus West Ham's Declan Rice, Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold and Bournemouth's young Welsh star David Brooks.

It is the second year in succession that Rashford has been nominated, with previous United winners including Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Ryan Giggs.

The award is open to any player aged under 23 at the start of the season and the winner will be announced on April 28 — the day United host Chelsea — at a gala event at London's Grosvenor Hotel.
