Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been discussing transfer plans for his squad, amid Nottingham Forest’s interest in re-signing James Garner.
The midfielder enjoyed an impressive second half of the season on loan at the City Ground, playing a key part in helping steer Chris Hughton’s side to Championship safety.
In his 20 appearances - only one of which came as a substitute - he bagged four goals, including one on the final day of the campaign in a 2-1 defeat at home to Preston North End.
The Reds would love to get him back for 2021/22, when they will be aiming to challenge for a top six finish.
Season tickets
There is little more than a week to go before Nottingham Forest find out their fixture schedule for the 2021/22 season.
Reds fans are hoping it will be a much improved campaign after a 17th placed finish last time around - and that they will be able to get to the City Ground to see it.
After more than a year of playing behind closed doors, the hope is supporters will be able to return to the stands come August when the new term gets up and running.
Season card renewals have been going well at Forest, with more than 15,000 having already secured their seats.
The Daily Mirror have had a look at the pricing structures for all 24 sides in the second tier when it comes to season tickets - and the Reds do compare favourably with their rivals.
Brereton v Messi
Former Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton made his international debut for Chile on Monday night - and he took to the pitch among illustrious company.
The 22-year-old, whose mother is Chilean, came off the bench as his country began their Copa America campaign with a 1-1 draw against Argentina - an Argentina side featuring Lionel Messi in the XI and with Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria as substitutes, no less.
Brereton entered the fray in the 77th minute as the Group A opener finished a point apiece.
And he spoke of his pride afterwards at pulling on the shirt for the first time.
Anderson's stance
Nottingham Forest great Viv Anderson says booing players who take the knee is “bizarre” and “just not acceptable in 2021”.
The build-up to England’s European Championship campaign was dominated by the negative reaction from some fans to the team’s anti-discrimination stance before kick-offs.
But Anderson, who was the Three Lions’ first black international footballer, feels continuing with the gesture could prove crucial in the quest to eradicate prejudice.
“The more people stand up and applaud, the more they drown them out, and hopefully the message will get across to these people – it’s just not acceptable in 2021,” he told PA.
