Manchester United's Jadon Sancho withdraws from England squad through injury

Jadon Sancho has been forced to withdraw from the England squad after sustaining a minor knock in training.

Gareth Southgate's Three Lions played Hungary on Thursday night, but Sancho didn't make the bench after picking up the injury.

It was announced on Saturday that Sancho has now been withdrawn from the England squad, which means the 21-year-old will return to Manchester United 's Carrington training ground to continue his rehabilitation - the knock isn't thought to be serious and he's expected to make a quick recovery.

Sancho is expected to recover in time for United’s game against Newcastle on Saturday, September 11.

Sancho made his Reds debut against Southampton from the bench and made his full debut in United's 1-0 over Wolves.

The news of Sancho's knock is the latest setback in his fledgling United career since his £72.9m transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed Sancho had been feeling 'a little sick' upon his arrival, although he's since overcome that illness.

While Sancho scored 16 goals and provided 20 assists for Dortmund last season, he's yet to record a goal contribution for United.
