Manchester United’s Issa Diop bid revealed as talks continue with West Ham’s rising star – latest transfer rumours

Manchester United have yet to launch a bid for Issa Diop – despite reports to the contrary.

Although talks have taken place with the West Ham defender’s camp, the Old Trafford giants haven’t submitted a formal bid according to L’Equipe.

It has been claimed in England Manchester United have already lodged a bid of €40million.

But the respected French publication insist no formal move has taken place – although it will.

And they are adamant United will go in with €50m. West Ham are said not to be overly keen to sell the 22-year-old defender but the door is "ajar".

The London side signed Diop from Toulouse for €25m last summer. The Ligue 1 club also sold another centre-back within a year last week, Christopher Jullien to Celtic for £7m.

Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer is looking to make their third significant signing of the summer following the acquisitions of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace for €55m and Daniel James from Swansea for a fee of €17m.
