Manchester United's huge injury blow for Spurs clash as Jose Mourinho returns to Old Trafford

Manchester United have been dealt a huge injury blow ahead of the Premier League clash against Spurs.

Jose Mourinho returns to Old Trafford for the first time as a manager since his sacking in December 2018.

He will be facing his successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the dugout, and the Manchester United boss has yet another injury problem to worry about.

Anthony Martial is set to miss the game after failing to overcome a muscular problem, according to Sky Sports.

The French attacker was substituted in United's draw against Aston Villa on Sunday with less than 10 minutes remaining as his side went in search of a winner.

Elsewhere, midfielder Scott McTominay is said to be "touch and go" for the match after missing the last three games with an ankle injury picked up against Brighton.

Nemanja Matic is also a doubt for the game after going two months without a match due to an unspecified problem.

Paul Pogba also remains out with an ankle injury, while Eric Bailly, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Diogo Dalot are all still out.

The lack of alternatives in midfield and attack could see Solskjaer opt for a back three, which he deployed against both Sheffield United and Liverpool in recent months - both of which finished in a draw.
