Manchester United's fans slam Harry Maguire decision as Cristiano Ronaldo returns vs Arsenal

Manchester United fans are fuming over Harry Maguire's inclusion after Michael Carrick named his starting line-up for tonight's Premier League showdown with Arsenal.

After picking up the baton from sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former United midfielder has overcome Villarreal and earned a creditable draw against Premier League table-toppers Chelsea in each of his two games in charge.

Preparing to lead the way for a third and final time before Ralf Rangnick takes over as interim manager, Carrick has made three changes from Stamford Bridge.

Diogo Dalot, Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly and Nemanja Matic, while Alex Telles continues at left-back in Luke Shaw's absence.

Ronaldo was benched for the Chelsea match as £80million captain Maguire missed out due to suspension after he picked up a red card at Watford.

Here are a selection of comments posted by United supporters on popular social media platform Twitter;

@alhxmdulillah said: "Why's Maguire starting? Bailly and Lindelof were great together on Sunday."

@Kilminster_9 posted: "Carrick can drop Ronaldo, but doesn't have the b**** to drop Maguire, who has been our worst defender this season."

@UTDTrey added: "Bailly benched after that phenomenal performance, have some shame."

@sisheldrick added: "I'm sick to death of this stupid Maguire agenda."
