Manchester United's Diogo Dalot drops hint on future after AC Milan loan

Manchester United's Diogo Dalot has dropped a hint over where his future may lie after his season on loan at AC Milan.

There were high hopes when United announced the signing of Dalot for £19m three years ago, but the versatile fullback's career at Old Trafford failed to take off and he made just 11 appearances across all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's side last campaign.

It was therefore understandable to see Dalot move to AC Milan on loan for this season, and while he made a slow start to life in the Italian topflight, he's since rediscovered his form, playing a role in securing Champions League football for the Rossoneri.

"He’s playing at a big club, big expectations, great history of the club. It’s been a good year for him. I’ve been very pleased with his development this season, he’s our player and I’m looking forward to having him back," Solskjaer said on Dalot in March.

While the United boss insisted Dalot's future was at United, multiple reports emerged suggesting that AC Milan would look to make the move permanent, although the player has now dropped a hint over his future, paying tribute to his time in Italy.

"New country, different experiences, same passion," Dalot wrote on social media.

"What a season full of emotions, with new goals to achieve and new things to learn.

"It was a great year for me and a pleasure to be part of this team and this amazing club."

The message is freely interpreted, but it seems like a farewell post, meaning Dalot looks set to return to United this summer.
