Bruno Fernandes has crossed the divide to welcome new Leeds United signing Raphinha to the Premier League.
Whites fans were delighted to see the club tie up a deal for the Rennes winger, but were probably not expecting a Manchester United star to wish Raphinha well.
Yet after Raphinha posted on Instagram expressing his delight at moving to Leeds, Old Trafford midfielder Fernandes quickly popped up in the comments.
"Bem-vindo a Premier League irmao," Fernandes commented in Portuguese with arm flex and heart emojis.
In English, that means "Welcome to the Premier League, brother".
It is arguably an encouraging sign for Whites fans their new signing is being welcomed by a key player from a rival.
The two spent just over a year together at Portuguese side Sporting CP for the 2018/19 campaign and start of the following season.
Raphinha scored six goals in 28 for Sporting before switching to Rennes in 2018.
No doubt Leeds will be hoping Raphinha can have a similar impact on the Premier League as his former teammate.
Fernandes transformed fortunes at Manchester United last season after completing a January move from Sporting.
The midfielder has netted 10 league goals in 17 appearances for the Old Trafford club.
Other players to have wished Raphinha well include his agent and former Chelsea midfielder Deco.
The former Barcelona star commented with high five emojis.
