Manchester United's Anthony Martial was Premier League's most clinical player during 2018-19 season

Manchester United's Premier League season is one that their fans will be aiming to forget.

After an upturn in form following the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in December, the Reds' season ended disappointingly with the club winning just two of their final nine league games, ultimately missing out on a place in next season's Champions League as a result.

Despite enduring his own frustrating campaign, United's Anthony Martial has been revealed to be the most clinical attacker in the the Premier League.

According to statistics gathered throughout the 2018-19 top-flight campaign, the former Monaco man has the best shots-to-goals conversion rate in the division.

The France international only took 39 shots in his 27 appearances over the course of the season, but still managed to find the net on 10 occasions for his side.

Liverpool's Sadio Mane, who was the joint-winner of the Premier League Golden Boot alongside Mo Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is in second, while Glenn Murray of Brighton is in third.

Team-mate Romelu Lukaku is in ninth, while Marcus Rashford finds himself at the wrong end of the table having only managed to score with fewer than 12 per cent of his shots on goal.
