Manchester United's 2020/21 third kit 'leaked'

Manchester United have had some distinctive third kit designs in recent years and that trend will continue next season according to a leaked image of the 2020/21 Premier League season's third shirt.

Following on from reports earlier this month from Footy Headlines, which suggested that United's third kit next season will feature a bold and unique look for the club with a new 'dazzle camo' design, an image of the full shirt has now 'leaked' which features a zebra-print design.

That report tallies up with an image leaked on Twitter, which shows a prominently black and white shirt with red piping around the sleeves and collar.

The adidas logo is also stitched in the club's traditional red colour while the United badge is embroidered on the opposite side with the logo of shirt sponsors Chevrolet positioned underneath in the centre of the shirt.

The jersey doesn't appear to feature the typical three stripes of Adidas on the sleeves.

Despite its garish appearance, the kit might actually bring an advantage to the field as dazzle camouflage originated during the World War and was designed not with the desire to conceal a target but to make it difficult to estimate range, speed, and direction.

United's kit would be the first notable inclusion of it in football fashion, although Nike recently released Tiempo Legend 8 boots which included a similar pattern.

Earlier leaks suggest United are planning to release a line of leisurewear utilising the new black and white design, including club-branded bucket hats.
