With transfer season officially over for a few months, as the European transfer window finally slams shut, Manchester United have completed a large clear out, but haven't necessary strengthened their squad.
United have let Romelu Lukaku, Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian and Alexis Sanchez leave Old Trafford this summer, and when you factor in the loss of both Antonio Valencia and Ander Herrera too, that's a substantial amount of talent and numbers.
Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James were all brought in and have fitted straight into the first team, but the squad does look light on numbers.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's side were linked with a move to Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen kast month, who is out of contract next summer, but recent reports suggest that United could go back in for the Danish midfielder in January, in what could be a cut-price deal.
So, just how much of an impact could Eriksen have on the United squad?
And, where would he fit in to the United XI?
We used Football Manager 2019 to have bit of fun and try to predict how Eriksen would have improved Manchester United, if he had joined last month.

Using a fan made editor file, we also updated all the latest transfers, manager changes, promotions and relegations, to make it as realistic as possible.
We then stopped United signing anyone else in-game, to see how much difference Eriksen could make on his own.
So how much difference will he make to United's performance in the 2019/20 season?
Here's what happened....

Manchester United Premier League goals scored in 2018/19: 65

Manchester United's best XI in 2019/20

Eriksen was also named in the United best XI in 2019/20, alongside Matic in midfield, as Solskjaer preferred a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 formation, with Rashford and Lukaku upfront.
Interestingly, Eriksen was preferred to Pogba in midfield, with Maguire and Wan-Bissaka in defence.
Manchester United's 2018/19 league position: 6th
Manchester United's 2019/20 league position: 3rd

Manchester United's 2018/19 league points: 66
Manchester United's 2019/20 league points: 75
With Eriksen in the side, United finished in 3rd position in the Premier League amassing 75 points over the course of the 2019/20 campaign.
Crucially, that's nine more points than they won last year, catapulting them above Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham to secure a place in the Champions League once again.
Football Manager 2019 suggests that if United can secure the signing of Eriksen in January, he could have a massive impact at the club, judging by his impact over the full season simulation.
And, if United can get him on the cheap, it's a win-win scenario.
