Manchester United reveal Marcus Rashford injury encouragement

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Marcus Rashford is stepping up his recovery as he draws closer to a return for Manchester United.

England international Rashford has not played for United since mid-January after he suffered a double stress fracture in his back following the FA Cup third-round replay victory over Wolves.

Rashford has missed the last six Premier League fixtures for United and is not expected to be back for at least another month as he continues his rehabilitation.

The 22-year-old has now begun to step up his gym work and Solskjaer admits the recent scans on his injury have been 'encouraging' although there is no specific time-frame on his return.

“As [with] any player, he wants to be fit as quickly as possible and play as soon as possible,” Solskjaer told MUTV.

“If that means playing in April, if he’ll be fit for us towards the end of the season, fantastic. If it takes longer, it takes longer.

“We just have to be sensible with it because we’re going to have Marcus playing here for many, many years.”

“The scans were encouraging. He’s now working in the gym and in the pool, and he’s moving around better. He’s in and around the place. It’s like how long is a piece of rope? It’s difficult.”
