Manchester United release new 2019/20 third kit by adidas

Manchester United have released their new third kit for the 2019/20 season.

United have confirmed they will wear a black third kit during the new season, with the strip featuring a number of design elements which reference Manchester.

The new kit features a subtle floral patten in the fabric, a print which is a reference to the Manchester Rose. United players also referenced this design element by attaching a rose emoji to their social media posts relating to the new kit.

United's new kit also features an inscription on the bottom left of the shirt which reads: "110 Years - Manchester Rose - 1909 2019."

This text is a reference to the FA Cup Final in 1909. United defeated Bristol City in the showpiece event and during the match they wore a white shirt with a red rose on the chest.

"When Man Utd won the national knockout competition for the first time in club history, the players wore a Lancashire rose on their crest," Adidas said.

"A tribute to the 1909 legends, this football jersey displays a glitched graphic of that enduring symbol of the county."

While the new third shirt is predominantly a black design with sponsor logos in their traditional white fonts, the Adidas manufacturer logo and the club crest are bright red.

Black shorts and socks complete the full third kit, which is one sale now via the United store.
