Manchester United have reportedly registered their interest in signing Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters as a potential replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
According to talkSPORT, negotiations over his contract extension have stalled. While the 25-year-old is under contract with the Saints until 2025, the report suggests that the defender would be interested in leaving Southampton during the January transfer window. He has made 16 appearances so far this season, scoring one goal.
Walker-Peters, who has impressed with the Saints since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2020, is thought to be attracting interest from both Chelsea and United, with the Reds eyeing the right-back as a potential replacement for Wan-Bissaka, should he leave later this month.

Despite impressing in recent weeks in the absence of Diogo Dalot, Wan-Bissaka could still leave Old Trafford during this month's transfer window after falling down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag. The English full-back has made just six appearances in all competitions this term.
Elsewhere, ESPN have reported that United accept privately they overpaid for Antony in the summer transfer window, but insist they had their reasons. The Brazilian winger, who has registered five goals in 16 appearances for the Reds this season, joined in a deal rising to €100million (£85.5m).
The report also claims that Ajax initially quoted around €60million for the player - which was deemed too high. However, with the Dutch giants having sold six players - including Lisandro Martinez to United - they were in no rush to sell the 22-year-old. In the end, Ajax called United football director John Murtough to negotiate a deal.
Antony was one of three forwards on the Reds' shortlist, and the club are said to have been impressed with his desire to move to Old Trafford. United are hopeful that the Brazilian forward will eventually prove to be worth his hefty price tag.
One United source told ESPN: "We've paid for the player we think he can become, not the one he is now."
