Manchester United have been handed a significant injury boost with Victor Lindelof being passed fit to start for Sweden against Spain in their EURO 2020 qualifier.
The defender missed last weekend's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle in the Premier League with a back injury.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed the defender picked up the problem as a result of the artificial turf during the draw against AZ Alkmaar but Lindelof travelled with the Sweden squad for the latest set of international fixtures regardless.
The 25-year-old wasn't risked during the 4-0 win against Malta on Saturday but returned to the starting XI to face Spain on Tuesday night.
His return will come as a welcome boost to Solskjaer who is sweating on the fitness of a number of key players for the weekend's clash against their rivals Liverpool.
If Lindelof is passed fit, Solskjaer must make a tough decision as to who will partner Harry Maguire in the centre of defence with Axel Tuanzebe also vying for a starting berth.
Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw were spotted in training as they near a return to action while Paul Pogba and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be assessed ahead of Sunday's game.
Liverpool have also received a fitness boost after Joel Matip returned to full first-team training on Tuesday.
The defender missed games against RB Salzburg and Leicester after sustaining a knock prior to the international break.
He took part in a training session alongside Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker prior to the fixture against United at the weekend.
