Manchester United receive Jadon Sancho transfer update from Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc says no decision has been made on Jadon Sancho's future but admitted the England winger will not remain with the club too long into the future.

Sancho moved to Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017 and has since established himself as one of the brightest young prospects in world football.

Manchester United were interested in Sancho when he left City two years ago and were heavily linked with him again during the transfer window just gone, but Sancho opted to extend his Westfalenstadion stay into a third year.

He has begun the new season in blistering form, directly contributing to 10 goals in nine appearances, and Zorc knows Dortmund will not be able to keep hold of him forever.

"No decision has been made [on Sancho's future]," Zorc told German outlet Kicker. "But you don't have to be a prophet to know he won't play here for another five years."

On Sancho's original decision to join Dortmund and subsequent rapid improvement at the club, Zorc added: "He has taken this positive development.

"I doubt that would have been possible with top English clubs. We trust the players very early, and we are not afraid to let them play. He acknowledges that.

"He's an instinctive footballer, a street footballer, he's always a footballer, but he's always setting new limits. He does not sit back satisfied. He wants to play football successfully and beautifully. That alone is his motivation."
