Manchester United have reached an agreement to loan Teden Mengi to Birmingham City for the reminder of the season.
Mengi, 19, is set to join Lee Bowyer's side after a number of offers for his signature in the January transfer window.
United had identified the England youth international as a leading candidate to leave the club on loan this month in order to continue with his development.
Mengi has shone for United at youth level again this campaign but remains on the fringes of first-team action.
The teenager's only senior appearance this season came from the bench as United drew with BSC Young Boys in their Champions League dead-rubber tie last month, though the highlight of his season so far was training with the senior England side back in October.
Birmingham identified the United hopeful as an ideal replacement for Dion Sanderson, who has been recalled by parent club Wolves after his own loan spell this season.
Mengi will become the second United youngster to move to St Andrews on loan this season after Dutch winger Tahith Chong also moved their in the summer.
