Manchester United reach Carabao Cup quarter-finals as Mata, Pogba and McTominay down Brighton 3-0

Manchester United breezed into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup with a 3-0 victory at Brighton on Wednesday night.

A first-half goal from Scott McTominay set United on their way, while Juan Mata and Paul Pogba struck after the break as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side reached the last eight of the competition.

Aside from the result, there were promising performances for Solskjaer: Donny van de Beek set up Mata with a fine back-heel assist, while Dean Henderson made a stunning one-handed save with United 1-0 up to remind David de Gea he has competition as the No.1 goalkeeper.
