Manchester United: PSG ready to match David De Gea's £350,000 per week demands amid contract impasse

Paris Saint-Germain are willing to match David De Gea's wage demands, and create another problem for Manchester United.

The Spanish goalkeeper's contract is up next summer and the two camps are currently at an impasse in negotiations over a new deal, as the 28-year-old wants to be made the best paid player at the club.

That would involve a wage of over £350,000 per week. United are reluctant to go so high, but may be forced into a corner if any deal goes unsigned, and PSG are free to come in for an offer.

The French champions will upgrade on Gigi Buffon over the next year, and De Gea's situation has made him a top target.

The interest only follows PSG's offer to Ander Herrera, in another situation where they have been willing to capitalise on United's refusal to meet a player's wage demands.

De Gea's first preference is to stay at Old Trafford and he isn't seen as open to a move to Paris as Herrera.

Juventus had been a more attractive option now that Real Madrid have signed Thibaut Courtois, but PSG feel they can put together a persuasive offer.
