Manchester United provide Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial injury updates

Manchester United will still be without Anthony Martial for the visit of Atalanta on Wednesday, but Harry Maguire should still be available.

United are looking to put an end to their horrible run of results when they return to Champions League action against Atalanta, after winning just twice in their last seven outings.

It will be no easy task against the free-scoring Italians, who will be looking to extend their lead at the top of Group F.

United will also have to once again cope without French forward Martial — who missed Saturday's defeat to Leicester due to a minor injury he picked up on international duty — and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed he isn't quite fit enough to return. Captain Maguire remains available though after making his comeback on the weekend.

The manager is also pleased that Fred and Edinson Cavani are available once more after they were absent last time out due to international commitments.

"Anthony joining in training [on Tuesday] but he's still not fit enough to join us [for the match]," Solskjaer told United's in-house media.

"Harry's not had a reaction so he's fine and good to go.

"We didn't lose anyone else from the game through injury at the weekend, so we're more or less a full squad. Raphael [Varane] of course is not with us still. Edinson [Cavani] and Fred are back available, which is good for us."

Marcus Rashford also made his long-awaited return to the pitch on Saturday and marked it with a fine strike.

Although he is not yet fit enough to play for 90 minutes, Solskjaer thinks the goal will do him a world of good.

"It was a big bonus for Marcus," he added. "He’s worked incredibly hard and has been focused to get himself back on the pitch; he looked like he’d never been out.

"He’s probably not fit enough for a 90-minute full game yet because he’s been out for a while. But he’s looking strong, fresh and eager, and he’ll be on the pitch at some point."
