Manchester United propose Eric Bailly swap for Pau Torres and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are prepared to offer Eric Bailly in a swap deal to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres - according to reports.

Bailly has been plagued by injuries since moving to United from Villarreal in 2016, missing more than 360 days of football due to various problems.

The Ivorian is contracted at Old Trafford until 2022 and has made just four appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.

Defence is still believed to be an area of priority for the United boss and Spain international Torres has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.

TeamTalk report United are unwilling to meet the 23-year-old's £60million release clause and will offer Bailly back to his former club in order to persuade them to part ways with their star defender.

The report adds that signing a new defender is top of Solskjaer's priority list and reports United are willing to offload Victor Lindelof as well as Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Bailly in order to generate funds.

Lindelof has returned to form of late and the MEN doesn't understand the club has any intention of selling him, although Jones and Rojo are free to leave, and Bailly's future is uncertain.

Elsewhere, reports in Spain claim Rennes have dropped their asking price for reported United target Eduardo Camavinga.

The 18-year-old is considered one of France's brightest prospects and has been regularly linked with a move to Real Madrid.

AS believe United will compete with Madrid for Camavinga's signature and report the youngster is planning on changing agents to engineer his next move.

As a result, Rennes are open to selling their prized asset for around £45million but could look to spark an auction for his services.

The MEN understand he is not currently a priority target.
